Here at Tykes Teaching School Alliance we pride ourselves on being Primary Specialists.
We were founded by two Outstanding local Primary Schools (Hoyland Common Primary School https://hoylandcommonprimary.co.uk/ and High View Primary Learning Centre http://www.highviewprimary.co.uk/)and we are led by the CEO’s of two successful Multi Academy Trusts (HCAT https://www.hcacademytrust.education/ and ECM Trust http://www.ecmtrust.org/academies.html).
Tykes Teaching School Alliances provides professional, personalised Initial Teacher Training. It is our aim to train the next generation of outstanding teachers in South Yorkshire!
Working in partnership with Leeds Beckett University we provide high quality teacher training to graduates across the primary age ranges 3-7 year and 5-11years.
Our partner schools are, all located within a 20-mile radius of each other within South Yorkshire. We offer the opportunity to work with dedicated professionals who are passionate about providing the best educational experience for future generations of young people. We believe that the School Direct route enables us to select the best candidates and to provide the best support.
All schools in the Alliance pride themselves on ‘growing their own’ and currently a significant proportion of the workforce trained in their current schools, either through the traditional PGCE route, the Graduate Teacher Training programme or more recently through School Direct. Of these, a sizeable majority are promoted point holders, up to and including at Senior Leadership level.
